After a successful rollout at seven stores in Germany and Luxemburg, Adler Modemärkte AG, one of the largest fashion retailers in Germany, is deploying RFID throughout its 170 Adler fashion outlets. The retailer expects to conclude the rollout next year and see ROI by the end of 2015.
The retailer is deploying Nedap’s Store !D RFID readers at the checkout areas, store entrances and the areas between the stockroom and the sales floor.
The retail chain expects to increase sales by significantly increasing the accuracy of stocktaking, full transparency of the flow of goods and continuous replenishment of the entire range of fashion items without errors. RFID technology will continually update stock quantities, correctly trigger repeat orders and avoid out-of-stock situations. Increased process efficiency is expected to accelerate workflows and have a positive impact on customer satisfaction.
Nedap’s Store !D technology is used to monitor and manage all current stock in the stockroom and on the sales floor and reduce loss of goods by way of electronic article surveillance (EAS). In addition, sales staff will have more time for customer support due to acceleration of the checkout process.
Adler is using part of its EAS systems in the Adler fashion outlets within the context of the RFID rollout since the newest generation of FL45-RF systems were upgraded from RF to RFID technology by adding an RFID reader to the already installed antenna. This served to significantly reduce the effort and costs required for hardware and installation.
