Last month the FAA released new guidelines for commercial use of drones that is expected to clear the way for drones to eventually be used for last mile logistics deliveries. But RFID enabled drones are already in use in warehouse settings for inventorying and yard management.
Drones are being used for aerial asset monitoring, allowing for enhanced data analytics management. Going forward, autonomous drones will extend and amplify what humans can already do by adding remote sensing, actuation and predictive tasks.
