Retailers invest a lot of effort to entice customers into their stores. That effort goes for naught if the item they want is not on the store shelf. This video from Nedap Retail demonstrates the value of RFID in reducing out of stocks.
Hans Petter Hubert, supply chain manager at Moods of Norway, says it used to take 40 to 45 hours to count the whole store prior to RFID. Since installing an RFID solution, the task is completed in about an hour.
After a successful pilot at two stores, Moods of Norway deployed RFID to an additional 14 brand stores last fall. The fast-growing Scandinavian fashion chain improved in-store stock accuracy to more than 98 percent during the four-week trial.
