Return on investment is a critical issue when it comes to deploying any technology, RFID included. In this video, McLeod Williamson, RFID Business Development Manager at Zebra Technologies, discusses the ROI of deploying RFID, as well as the trends that Zebra is seeing when it comes to overall adoption. The video was produced at Barcoding Inc.’s annual Executive Forum in Baltimore, Md.
“If you look at those using RFID in different verticals these days, they are using it on some very low cost products, so regardless of the cost of the system they are seeing a return, even when tracking things like socks or T-shirts,” says Williamson.
Williamson says that with better inventory visibility, retailers can reduce out-of-stocks, resulting in sales gains ranging from 2 to 20 percent.
Williamson also discusses the role RFID is playing in aerospace, IT asset tracking, and the great potential that Zebra sees for RFID in healthcare.
