The Internet of Things is expected to make a tremendous impact not only on how businesses operate, but how individuals live their lives each day. This video, produced by Dave Evans, chief futurist at Cisco, predicts just how life will change in a world where 80 billion devices are connected, altering everything from healthcare, to daily commutes to work, to how food reaches your table.
“We’re ready to move from our current Internet of Things, to the Internet of Everything,” says Evans, “and networks with billions if not trillions of connected objects and devices that create unprecedented opportunities.”
Healthcare providers, for example, will monitor vital signs remotely by interacting with sensors embedded in clothing. And your alarm clock will wake you up 10 minutes early when traffic is congested.
